How to Fact-Check AI Content Before You Publish
Fact checking AI content means tracing material claims to reliable sources, not asking another model whether the first model was right.
Triage claims by risk
Prioritize numbers, dates, names, quotations, prices, product specifications, legal or medical statements, policies and anything that could change a reader's decision.
Prefer primary sources
For product features and pricing, use the vendor's current documentation. For regulations, use official government sources. For research claims, use the original paper when practical.
Check freshness
A technically accurate statement from two years ago can be wrong today. Record when you checked unstable claims and schedule updates for commercially important pages.
Do not cite search snippets as evidence
Open the source. Snippets can omit qualifications and become stale. The article should support the claim actually being made, not a nearby version of it.
Remove what you cannot support
If a claim is not necessary and you cannot verify it, delete it. Precision is more useful than a longer article filled with fragile assertions.
